Centrifugal cleaners are widely used in the pulp and paper industry to remove contaminants from pulp fiber suspensions based on density differences. They can remove everything from nails, staples, and pieces of glass, to sand and grit, to lightweight plastics and adhesives . The setup and design of each cleaning system are based on the nature and concentration of the contaminants targeted for removal, characteristics of the pulp fiber suspension, and end product requirements. In some cases, a single large cleaner or set of cleaners can perform the job. In others, multiple banks of cleaners arranged in three or more stages are required.
