Line shaft technology dates back to the 18th century and was literally the driving force behind the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century. Line shafts are still in use on many older paper and board machines. This course discusses the design and function of common line shafts used in the papermaking industry along with maintenance and safety guidelines.
